Young Adults School SAFETY Program

SafeStart is a practical program designed to support young women as they transition into college life. It incorporates The CHEET Method to develop awareness, confidence, and simple, effective self-defense skills through a mix of education and hands-on training. Participants learn to recognize potential risks early, trust their instincts, and make clear decisions that support their safety and independence. Through guided scenarios, students learn situational awareness, recognize human behavior including unhealthy relationship dynamics, and learn to identify early predatory warning signs. The program also builds a foundation in body movement, response techniques, and how stress can affect reaction, while introducing practical ways to use everyday objects for protection when needed.

SafeStart’s mission is to ensure every student enters college feeling prepared, capable, and confident in her ability to protect herself. Beyond physical skills, the program reinforces self-worth, boundary setting, and personal responsibility, equipping each participant with the mindset and tools needed to build a safe, healthy, and empowered future.
